South Dakota is a huge ethanol state and E85 as of right now is just as high as regular leaded gas. With the passing of the energy bill signed into law by President Bush ethanol production was given a huge boost which in turn had the effect of increasing prices locally. With ethanol you get lower mileage. Proven fact over and over again. I personally use a 10% blend in the vette at 91 octane and have no problems with using ethanol at all. The local news media was reporting that ANY car could use E85 and that turned out to be a very costly mistake for many in the hunt to try and save money on fuel. Burnt valves and other costly repairs was the repair of the day for many and a lighter wallet. I think converting to e85 would not be worth it. Your question asked if anyone had done it to a vette. I know of no one that has done it to any kind of car that I'm aware of. Good luck in your quest though!
Until the recent price disaster I have been using it in my 03 Suburban because it was up to 40 cents a gallon cheaper that regular. On gasoline I averaged 13 in town and on E85 its 10. There is less BTU/lb in the alcohol hence the fuel flow is higher for a given power setting. Octane rating is over a 100.
