Just a quick question. My 88 has an Accel hi-output coil. I just replaced the plug wires with a set of Taylor Spiro wires (8mm) that I ordered from Ecklers. My question is, can these wires handle the voltage that the coil supposedly puts out? Or should special wires have been ordered. Also, and this is a dumb one, but the wires i have are colored, which is why I ordered them. One end has a black boot, the other a red. Which end is the plug end? I called Ecklers and they couldn't give me a definitive answer. Thanks guys!!! By the way, the car seems to run okay during a short run I did after installing the wires.
I Have Red Taylor Spark Plug Wires On My 1995 Coupe..
and the black boots go on the ends of the sparkplugs. Of course, I have an LT-1 and the way they are molded makes that pretty obvious. Not sure what it might be like on an L-98 - though it would seem the way they are molded would be pretty easy to figure out.
Dont worry aobut the voltage. Heck a bent up coat hanger will work great if you can keep it from grounding!
I just took off some Mallory red something wires 'cuz they are ugly as hell. Put on a new set of AC Delco oem replacements. Looks far better and runs the same. (engine all stock)
