Whatever you say, guys. But I've gone to, and priced paint for resto and a grade below show quality for quite a few years. Artvette is on the money.

And that's why some cars are worth "restoring", and some aren't. And some people, regardless of the value of the car when it's done, will spend more money on a paint job. And most won't.

You can go elsewhere, and find a really good job for less. Or, if you choose, you can buy a car for the price of a great paint job. But a great, show quality, resto level paint job will cost you. And one step below that isn't so far down on dollars or looks, but it is a bit lower.

I am not taking anything away from, or demeaning a $2K or $4K paint job; it's just fine. 99.7% of us would be just as happy with it and would never see the fractional differences. But not all Corvette owners. If you don't believe this, have it your way; you're in the majority!

Earl Shieb, $199.99.
Earl Shieb, six prices---one paint job---oh yeah!, windows, tires, & engine oversprayed at no additional charge

I must be getting old.....I remember Earl Shieb being $49.95, and if you weren't happy with the paint job just run it through a car wash it would come off

Actually, as everything else, Earl Scheib's started out even cheaper....hard to believe but true.

A freind of mine's wife thought she'd surprise him for his Bday by having his Blazer painted (black) at Scheib's. They painted the weatherstrip, emblems and the wheel well mouldings, too They might as well painted it with a mop the finish was so bad, he was surprised all right! Happy birfday, ****!

3500-5000, for a true show job alot more, it can be very labor intensive. I think you would be unhappy with anything less than 3500.

I have a silver over gray and wanted to have the upper painted while I'm restoring it. I had two scratches in the bumper and clam shell. For the same color I paid $1,500.

For a good paint job which means parts taken off and the entire car painted the same color $5,500.

That's in Thousand Oaks, CA, 50 miles north of L.A.
