86 pace car
here's a vette I would like to know more about. An 86 pace car color... is what the ad says?
Was the vette a pace car in 86? In the ad, I'm not sure about the color... seems black and silver... is that really it?
Is this car rare for an 86?
The price for a 35 miles example is about 14000US
is that a good price?
thanks for all the info you can give me. Still searching for a C4 for myself. Here's the ad with pics:

just what I thought... this is not pace car color. By the info you gave me, the car seems medium grey-metallic black. Although, it seem more silver.
Is that color rare? Any numbers compared to other colors of the same year?

Corvette was the official car that paced the Indy 500 that year. All convertibles, regardless of color, were labelled pace cars but the actual car that paced the race was yellow. The car in the link is not a pace car and is overpriced by several thousand dollars.

If the black and silver beige is original, it is a Malcolm Konner coupe and it might be worth somewhere close to that money to somebody...

If paying way too much for a paint color is your thing.

I agree, but you think he would have mentioned that in his ad.

There are only 50 of them...that means there only have to be 50 buyers/owners. Not
my thing, but the rarity does drive the price up.
