It's been awhile since I've posted on this forum because we've been deployed in Iraq for the last 11 months. Here are some pics of our Uparmored HMMWV we've named the Combat Corvette. It's not as much fun as the Vette to drive. But it has Definitely helped us out of a few tight spots While Patroling the streets of Fallujah for the last 9 months.

My son-in-law is there now. Their nickname for Humvees is "shredder" cause when they run over a mine everything inside is shredded. His unit runs a 5-Ton truck as a gun truck for convoys. It hit 2 artillery shells that were buried in the road and it blew the right front tire and suspension to smithereens. The cab and bed were fully armored. One of the guys in back got some gravel in his neck and a broken finger but otherwise everyone was OK.
Be safe and come home soon. God bless you.
In their 10/05 issue, Car & Driver has a feature on the M1114 by
Jerry Garrett.
Garrett went to Baghdad and rode with Humvee patrols for a week.
While he did manage to 'track-test' a couple of the M1114s, this
was secondary to the main focus of the article.
I'm an outsider and only know what it is like in Iraq from articles
such as Garrett's. Here is to innovations like the M1114 and others
like it that contribute to a safe tour & speedy return for all of the
service people on the front lines.
Come back home soon ..Glad your doing good. I am currently attached to a construction battalion for the NAVY and should be there by the end of spring next year...
If you would like me to host those pics for you send them this way, the link isnt working
Congratulations on defending this great nation, keep your chin up

Thanks for all the positive replys. We are still in Taji going through demob. briefs. Hope to fly into Atterbury Indiana on the 18th. We were an advisory support team attached to the Iraqi Intervention Force. We moved the Bn. to Fallujah Dec. 21 04 to support operation Fantom Fury. And ended up staying in Fallujah for the rest of our tour. I still cannot figure out how to post these pics.
