My wife works for a local Chevy dealer that took this car in on trade a couple weeks ago. It is a 94 A4 with 33k miles. They've had it in the showroom asking $15,950 for it which I thought was a bit high. It has been in inventory over 30 days and they don't want to wholesale it off so as an employee I can pick the car up for what they paid for it plus tax. I knew they didn't have a lot of money in it. Got the word from the wife when she got home from work this evening that I can get the car tomorrow for $8200 out the door. Needless to say I'll be there as soon as I get off work! I'm a two time previous c4 owner, had a 89 6spd coupe and a 93 ruby vert (pics below) so I have a pretty good idea of what I'm getting my self into. Two things for certain, the suspension has been lowered and the cat back is aftermarket. These two issues will have to be corrected asap. Once I get it home and get under it I'll be posting in the correct forum a trade ad looking to trade the aftermarket parts for stock parts. Anyway, these are the pics of the car I grabbed off the dealer website. I'll have a bunch more once I pick it up tomorrow.
I'd really like to have my ruby back. That was a divorce sale that really sucked! But I'm sure that isn't the first time you guys have heard that story....
I'm really curious what they did to lower the car. The guy was the original owner, and he was at least mid 50's. Can't figure for the life of me why he would lower this thing considering they ride like a go cart anyway. Weird.... Hopefully it won't be too much of a nightmare to change back to stock.
great buy!
its probly just got hosed original bilsteins up front.mine were toast at 30k.
how much for that old picup to the left in pic one?man thats sweet!
Your old Ruby Red looks great, I bet you miss her.
Yea the old ruby was cool. I'd planned to get another ruby if I was to get another c4, but a coupe this time rather than a vert, but the deal came along on this 94 that is too good to pass up. Ironically I actually paid less for the ruby than I'll have to pay for this coupe. I bought the car with fire damage to the passenger floor board/transmission hump. Had to patch the floor and hump and replace the engine control wiring harness. There was no interior damage or major issues other than the glass work on the floor. The damage was caused by the passenger side cat overheating causing it to flame and burn the floor. I did get a local muffler shop to remove the cats after I got it back on the road. I only paid $6k for the car with clear title. I've got some pics of the car when I brought it home somewhere on cd. I'll look for them. These were after I finished the glass work and cleaned her up a little.

I "inquired" about lowering my car a little, and I think I heard to lower the front of a C4 you actually have to cut the springs? Does that sound right to anyone else?
The rear is a piece of cake, it's the front that's a problem.
Honestly, if you are going to spend the $$ on a cat-back exhaust system and you'd like something quiet in the cabin like stock, go Corsa.
I have no cats and headers and it's quiet in the cabin at cruise (WOT is a different story, but I kinda like that).
