Figured myself a few times, just to find out how close the computer average was... it was off a little, but not a lot. (something like 5% less actual) so I just trust the computer now.

I measured mine on my 85 once, it was reading 21 mpg, the pump calculated to 22. So, that's about 5% low. Depends on lots of things though, tires, how many times you top off, etc. Assuming your fuel pressure an injectors are stock anyways.
