I'm new to the forum. I bought my first Corvette a month and a half ago. A '93 Ruby Red with 37000 miles on it. It's fully loaded with a six speed and the Z07 suspension. I got it for an excellent price I don't think the guy knew what he had . The only problems with it is the CD player, and the air bladders in both seats don't work. That didn't deter me from buying the car because other than that it's mint. As far as the seats go I took the bottom cushion off of each of them and when I pushed the buttons the pump made a clicking sound and that's about it. Any Ideas? Another rather annoying problem i'm having is I just can't seem to get the windows clean. I've tried Windex with paper towels, newspaper and terry cloth towels and they get all streaked inside and out. I'm stumped, I've never had a car where I couldn't clean the windows. I've never used rain-ex or fog-ex before and maybe he did. Would that cause the windows to streak like that? Aside from that I'm lovin' the car what a blast it is to cruise around in it, unfortunately I live in New England and it's going away in about a month.
PS: I'm going to do the exhaust in the spring. What do you think about the Magnaflow system. I'm thinking about that system because I don't want to spend a ton of cash. I'm looking for something that sounds close to or a little louder than stock when cruising, and really sweet when I put the hammer down. Thanks
Welcome to the Forum and congrats on your new '93 Vette.
The typical failure mode for the bladder pump is that the little rubber diaphram inside just disintegrates. There should be a C4 Tech Tip on how to replace that diaghram with a piece of bicycle inner tube or rubber glove.
There was a recent post on cleaning window glass. It suggested trying Stoners glass cleaner or even the safe (don't recall the package color) of Bon Ami. If you use the latter, be sure to thoroughly rinse the glass afterwards.
Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the forum.
There is a wealth of info here and a quick search should reveil answer to your questions (sorry I have none ).
Congrats, and welcome to the forum. Rain-X can do that to your windows. I use Rain-X but I don't have that problem very often. When I do and just try to clean a small area at a time, usually takes care of the problem.
As far as your exhaust question, well from what I understand about the Magnaflows, they have a tendency to resonate in the car at certain speeds. Me, I couldn't take that, so I saved up until I could go with the Corsa. I think there are several here who have tried the Magnaflows, some really like them and some have changed them out for something else. I liked the sounds of the Borla's as well, but again the resonance problem. I'll just say that I'm glad that I saved up and bought the Corsa. (TBryne a forum sponsor has them on a group purchase right now, might be worth the time to contact them about the price.)http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...se&forum_id=48
On the windows, are you referring to the side windows or all four? Whichever are you sure they don't have window tint on them? When I first got my 93, previous owner even had the front windshield tinted, I had the shop remove all but the rear window.
1st investment is the GM Service Manuals (Red books 2) they vary in price depending on where you get them. Helm is the publisher. (directly from them, Ecklers, MAD, ebay...)
You'll be able to isolate and troubleshoot with the manuals. The seats issue may be a swap out. Don't know for sure.
I'd recommend Corsa, at least that's the route I went. Check out their website for details and sound clips.

Congrats and welcome to the Forum!!!! I too have a Ruby! I'm running the Magnflow mufflers with x-pipe, I like the sound, has a little resonance around 1600-1800, not to bad just have to turn the radio up a little to block it out. Posts some pics and don't forget to register your car on the 40th Registry site.
My air bladders don't work either, on both the car or my chair.
Welcome to the obsession . Great choice in C-4's, but I am partial. Make sure you register with the 40th registry. As for the bladders it was the first post I ever read on the forum and a very easy fix. As for the windows you may have a leaking heater core that is causing the windows to fog up.
Good luck,
Mark

How Ironic is that??? My first car was a 68 Firebird and I also had a 93 Ruby a few years ago. Nice choice in cars!
Like the others have mentioned, Don't forget to register your car HERE
Congrats on your new investment. I'm sure you will enjoy it.
