Thanks to your help I finished my install of Dynomat in my 96 CE Corvette. I can tell you it was well worth the time, more then expected (6+ hours), the money (around 2 bills), and the cuts in my hand (nobody told me this stuff was that brutal). The sound system sounds better, all miscellaneous resonance and squeaks have diminished considerably and the road noise is considerably quieter.
I'm a big fan of my cars rumble however; I'm a big fan of it being outside the car not inside.
This is a must for all cars in my opinion. Thanks everyone who talked me into doing this.
While I was under the rear installing the sway bar bushings I noticed how the two rear carbo "boxes" just hang down on either sidr of the exhaust system, sort of like "acoustic chambers"???
I'm wondering if using such a matt in the rear area and down the back behind the seats would be the ticket to reduce external sound feedback.
Absolutely, you would be amazed at the heat reduction from the motor/road, and the acoustical properties it gives over stock insulation. I left the insulation in as well, just installed the Dynomat underneath everything.
The biggest pain was the Bose speaker inlets. Lots of wierd angles but it's easy to patch with different pieces and it's not visiable at all.

I thought that was funny to when I saw those! The drivers side has matting packed around the ABS. I've planned to stuff the same in the passenger side.
I installed some in my older 1987 Coupe and it cut way down on noise from the dash area and the doors. As I still have a 18-20 square feet of material left, I will make a point to install it in the rear compartment of my 1995 Coupe this winter when I replace the rear carpet. Will likely do the rest when I replace the front at some future time.
