85 Plenum Paint
What type and color paint can I buy to use to clean up my plenum and runners on my 85. Mine are looking pretty bad and would like to clean them up.

Corvette Central and other suppliers make a paint that is supposed to match the original color but it doesn't. It is way better than what I began with though.

This paint job was just an interim project. My plans are to go with chrome valve covers and to sand and polish the plenum and runners at a later date.

You can buy that silver paint from the catalogs, but you will be painting them every couple of years because the dirty exhaust fumes soak right through the cast metal. Or you can powder coat them silver and they will look fantastic and stay that way longer.
