Default Window problem! Please help!

On my 95 coupe both windows are starting to leave marks on the glass from going up and down. On both windows the marks are at the front of the glass at about where the mirrors are. What is causing this and what do I do to fix them? I know I will have to remove the door panels so I downloaded a thread about removing the door panels but do not know what needs to be replaced after I get the panels off. I,am sure their is a thread on this somewhere but I do not know what to look for or how to do it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm guessing the felt pads on the adjustors. Once worn damage will begin.

There are some guides that slide against the inside of the glass as the glass goes up and down. I think I would take the door apart and see what the scratches line up with. The scratches should lead you to the problem. There is a tech tip that talks about how to adjust the glass that might help.

The felt strips were worn out on my 91. The metal that the felt used to be attatched to, etched both of my door windows beyond repair. New felt and glass fixed the problem. Kind of costly.

This is caused by the outer rubber window wipes. There are rivets in the felt that rub the window at the spot you mentioned.Replace them and it will not get worse. If you can feel the scratches with your fingernail the windows are toast if not they may be polished out at a glas shop.
