Default 1986 Pace Car

Will these cars ever go up in price because of their low production numbers? Looking for opinions.

I doubt it. These cars aren't like the 60's cars that had performance enhancements. A set of stickers on the doors IMO doesn't mean sht.

Sorry I don't agree- the true 86 pace cars from Indy are worth a bunch and the ones procuced in yellow are worth a nice penny as well.

The regular 86's well, it will be like a 86 but maybe a tad bit more.

I have a yellow 90 festival car and all these cars were used at Indy. I don't think it's ever going to be worth the 40 grand it sold for new. I think the 86 is in the same ball park. That car will never be worth the 28 or 30 it cost new.

Well, I doubt there are any true Pace Cars left, or if there are, someone has them hidden away.

Now as far as the Pace Car replica of which every '86 convertible is one. They made 7315 of those, so they are far from rare and at 25% of production they can be considered low, but I doubt they will be worth any more than any other '86(except fot the fact that they are convertibles).

The Malcom Konner Edition is far more rare, in fact probably the most rare C4. Only 50 examples made.

What about my 1 of 30 Yellow Festival car? I pamper that baby everyday knowing it's going to appreciate. Not.

The belief over in NCRS circles is that the yellow pace car replicas may get a bit of a price boost over time - but nothing huge.

If you have an ACTUAL pace car, i.e. one that was used at the Indy 500, then its worth something.

Otherwise dont expect anything far over what a vert of any year gets.

Even the Malcolm Konner edition isnt worth anything more at the moment, and with what they put on it, I dont expect it to go up more than any other coupe.

Well, since every '86 vert was a "pace car" the value doesn't change much.

However one cool thing is that every so often the people at INDY have a pace car reunion day and let you drive your car on the track. If you buy an '86 vert you can participate. If you buy an '87 vert, you can't. Not that it is a super big deal. but it is something of note. - I am planning on makeing it to the next one.
