Default The little things.

We all tend to spend our money on the Vette to either make it go faster or look better. Some time a feww $ spent on a little thing can really increase the joy and take some of the frustration out of owning a Corvette. I have been frustrated with the factory clips that keep the cargo area shade open. I finally got feed up with shade slipping off the clips and rolling itself up in my 95', that I broke down and ordered a set of the new design from MAD. $8.00 and 10 minutes to replace. What a difference, now the cover stays put. I am amazed that Chevrolet engineers never figured it out in 13 years. A simple design change and they could have solved the problem. I don't know why i waited so long, this is my 5th C4 and all of them did the same thing.

hmm, you know what, i think i ought to do that too...
I do get tired of shade rolling up on its own all the time.. really annoying, now i don't even use the shade...

$8.00 will be worth it to not hate that particular aspect of my car.

I too replaced them. Another inexpensive thing that makes a big difference is to buy a hatch vent. I love mine. It makes driving with the top off or windows open much nicer. There is a lot less noise from the wind.

I just ordered one (hatch vent) and am anxiously awaiting it.

That's funny, because that was the first thing (shade clips) I ordered for my car when I got it. I also got more "little things" right away like, drains for the rear hatch, targa top storage-rubber bumpers, and a power screwdriver w/ long T40 bit for the targa. Ahhh the little things!!!!

I'm interested in the "drains for the rear hatch." How was the install? Apparently, you have to drill holes in the body and possible remove the weatherstrip during the install?
Could you explain how it went for you? Thanks.

I think the shade clip repair was one of my first mods. I glued a strip of aluminum to the underside.

I replaced mine years ago. One thing...I ordered a set from Ecklers, and they were really bad quality. They got really softfrom the heat and kinda melted. They sent me another set, the same thing. I ordered a set from Mid America, and they were factory quality, and they have been in 12+ years.

Be careful with the hatch vents, you can easliy break the switch for the hatch light and then for no reason, you may find your alarm going off(but only at 3:00am).

Love my hatch vent. Cooler inside and less wind noise.
