I have a '93 and they had an option called Performance Axle Ratio, RPO code G92, it only cost $50.00. My car doesn't have this but I was just curious as to what it was.
the most useless code GM ever introduced. It means the orderer wanted the best axle ratio available for the cars other options (tranny, vert/coupe), thats all it means.
If you have a automatic transmisson it meant you got a 3.07 rear axle ratio as opposed to the standard 2.93.It will be quicker from the start but sacrifices some gas milage.

The G92 indicates a Performance Axle Ratio, but not necessiarily a specifc value. The automatic coupes got a 3.07 ratio (RPO G44) and the verts got a 2.73 (RPO GU2) as the "Performance Axle". Both the G92 and one of the other RPO codes would be listed on the option sticker if the performance axle was ordered.
The base gear ratio for auto verts was a 2.59 (RPO GM1) and the base for the coupe was the 2.73 (RPO GU2).
