Well not even one month of owning her and she got in trouble. 92 in a 60 east bound on the page extension in St. Louis. After a lawyer takes care of it I'm looking at a fine plus community service. Damn that thing is fast....
It could have been a lot worse. I got pinched for doing 50+ in a 30 and received a criminal citation for reckless driving. It carried a $5,000.00 fine/up to 30 days in jail/mandatory high-risk insurance pool for 2 years
The officer was very friendly when he advised me not to dare show up in court without a criminal lawyer . I got a good one and ended up paying only $200 in fines .... but good lawyer cost me the funds that I was going to use for LT Headers, a mild cam & a new exhaust system + all the installation costs
Thus, I now drive it like I own it rather than like I stole it

Sorry about the ticket, corvettes and 60mph arent made for each other..Just curious why do you need a lawyer to go in and get a fine and community service? I bet they would fine you on your own and you could save the lawyers fee....
My advice: Call Valentine @ 1-800-331-3030 ASAP and ask to be put on the list to buy a "vacation rental" for a discount of 10 % off normal selling price of $399. Vacation rentals, if they have any, can't be told from new and have same warranty. Best buck you can spend! You'll never regret getting one of the best protectors against getting nailed for speeding. I own one and it performs flawlessly. I don't know anything about the "vacation rentals", but the Valentine has been the best detector I ever owned. And I owned several different brands. I believe the best feature of the Valentine is its ability to notify the driver of which direction and how many radar devices are being used.
speeding when no one else is around to even get hurt=
I got nailed by a cop in Austin for going 108 in a 60 (I used to get ROUTINELY passed by soccer moms in suburbans going 90+ around there) and he told me, "hell, why'd you even stop, I never would have caught you."...I was thinking, 'well, thanks for telling me that now'
i know a guy that got pulled over when the cop came to the car he said i've been waiting on you all day (he was doing 85 in a 65) he told the cop i got here as fast as i could. the cop laughed so hard he let him off with a warning. some people have all the luck i would have definitely got a ticket

I haven't met a cop like that on the road here in MN. However, I haven't had many a run-in with them, either...and not in the Vette thankfully (knock on wood!).
I have been let go with warnings for speeds in excess of that.
Must have been by a LEO who had a Vette at home.Makes me wonder how long it will be before I get poped. Most of the time I have been over the limit it was only for a few secs while testing my tranny or an engine repair. It definately does not take much time to go from 55 to 85 when it drops into 2nd and puts me back in the seat.Reminds me of that Gillette Mach III commercial

No, I have been let go more than once for much faster than that. I am clean cut and polite. Sometimes a yes sir,and a I was wrong works wonders!
Back in the summer I got stopped doing 97 in a 70 though it wasnt in a vett. Any way it cost me $285 for the ticket. No community service and it didnt go on my insurance so I was happy. I could tell it wasnt going to go well though when the first thing the cop said was "it took me 3 miles to catch up to you". I was lucky though I had it up to around 105-110.

Truthfully I do not know how it didnt show up on my insurance. Whenever I called the judge I got his secretary and she said that the ticket was insurance deferred. I asked her just what that meant and she said that It wouldnt ever show up on insurance. I guess she knew what she was talking about.
Havent gotten a ticket since 1987. I don't drive faster than 10 over.
Everybody else does though and they rarely get pulled over.
In a 300 mile trip you might see one CHP. The average speed on I-5 is 80-90 mph. The legal speed is 70 mph.
Does anyone really need to drive at 90+?
Theres clowns on I-5 in Suv's running 100+ all day long. Is that safe? Of course they're on the phone.
