I'm getting ready to buy seat covers from Corvette America for my '84 coupe. Has anyone done the install themselves? The local upholstry shop wants $450 to do it. Needless to say I don't want to spend that much money.

I installed my own covers and posted some pics. Also, many good suggestions since I did mine right here on the forum.
I did mine myself on my 86. If your seat foam is in good shape it's not to bad of a job. I didn't have the hog rings or the pliers so I used nylon ties instead. That was two years ago and they still look good. I have since heard of other people using the nylon ties. Good Luck.
Just type in installing car seat covers in Yahoo, should get a lot of hits. I've seen quite a few sites on it. The hog pliers aren't too expensive, it will just take some time to do. Seeing how the covers come off will help you get them back on. Take pics along the way to help.
