I wanted to ask your expertise on how much it would cost to do a head gasket job on a 95 TPI model? What is involved in this project or can a mechanically inclined wrencher takle this project?
If you replace the head bolts to (recommended) it really depends on what brand bolts you use. ARP is the popular choice on the board and the most expensive. If you buy the bolts and change both gaskets (you'll also need new intake gaskets and possibly valve cover gaskets don't forget them) it will run you $125 +/- if you do the work yourself. You'll need a torque wrench, torque specs, black RTV, thread sealer, and sockets and if it is your first time (I am not very knowledgable with the LT1 intakes) I'd guess a weekend.
I'd just go to www.summitracing.com and order everything from there at once, they are usually cheaper by a few $ than the local auto parts stores, especially on the bolts.
