Check Tire Rack's website for a lot of good tire info that may aid you in selecting a tire based on your requirements. As far as brakes go, I and others are very pleased with ceramic pads for all around use. Quiet, low dusting and very good performance. Sounds like a nice one you've got there and welcome!
Thank you to everyone for the quick responses...Right now I have a place up the street from me installing new leather seats, carpet ,door panels and weatherstripping...Can't wait to see what she looks like complete.. I am like a kid in a candy store... By the way...What is a car like this worth with all the history and paperwork..window sticker..build sheet ...original purchase order . maintenance records...manuals..and dealer brochures...Thanks again...
Agree with bogus check out kumho 712's been running them 4 5k now. VERY quiet nice ride & traction at speed have run them at 130+ alot of bang 4 your buck!
Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3 is an outstanding tire with great dry and wet traction. Although more pricey than some of the other tires mentioned in this thread, depending on how you drive, you won't be sorry you bought them.
You didn't mention where you live or if you're planning on driving in the snow. The GY F1 GS D3 isn't snow rated. So if you're planning on drving on snowy roads, they're probably not the right tire for you.
Go with the Goodyear F1 GS D3’s. You will not be sorry and your going to amazed at the new tire ride.
Just make sure they get them balanced correctly. It took then two tries to get mine right.

I don't think documentation helps too much with the common C4 as yet. Give it another 15 years and it might bump up the value.
Congratulations on the nice car and welcome aboard matey!
I reckon if you can still get those Kelly Charger tyres in the 255/50/ZR16 i got 6 really good hard driving years out of a set of them, and when the car sold, they were still legal. They would be my pick for a good quality tyre that provides an excellent service life.
I too have a 1985 two-tone bronze coupe that has been in my family since its original purchase (currently only 15k miles). I recently repalced the tires. I put the Yokohama Avid V4s tires on based on their very positive reviews and the many bad reviews of the Goodyear Eagle Hp Ultra Plus. The Eagle Hp Ultra Plus is the only tire Goodyear makes in the stock 255/50/16 size. I live close to the Tire Rack and had them do the install. The Yokohamas drive great and are very quiet. Much better than the original Gatorbacks that came off the car. Good luck and enjoy the car.
