Depends on the track too. The guys at etown are 4000' below sea level and their times show it.
depends on the track and its all about the hole shot.
By the way how does this work I know if you are above sealevel you run slower and if you are at sealevel you run quicker but if you are below sealevel do you run slower as well... how does that all work

Below sea level=faster unless your under water! Lower = dense air!

It has been suggested the driving in Hell is worth a good 6-tenths in the 1/4 mi.
As they say, drive like the Devil
Not sure what my LT4 would turn but i think its mostly up to the driver and of course the car being a good running one for the motor probably because the way it was broke in....My harley only 74 c.i. that runs good seems so fast and i was at a party once and told my friends wife her husbands 103 c.i i thought i could run with him she said no way although a wide glide heavier could blow me off the road since balanced and blue-printed too....lol I declined the bet and his wife told me her husband a cop would beat me cause he has no fear.....Well red light to red light i took the 103 c.i about 5 car links he found out i dont have any fear either brokem loose at line power shifted at 6k to 120 thru about a quarter need to take my car to track and see what a stock LT4 will do I guarantee i can get all that can be had out of it....will never get out of 4th.....I only tach 5k at 141 in 5th.... Guy i work with has a 2000 ls1 automatic wasn't even a race.....

Well to answer your ?, it is a myth yet to be 100% proven that the 92-93's are the fastest stock LT1's (same options etc) because of Speed density fuel metering as opposed to 94-96's Mass Air. This has been somewhat proven with F-bodys as well as the 93's (only year SD)usually produced the best times when new. Car and driver got a 13.4@106 for a stock 6spd LT1 back in 92, the most mph I've seen in a mag for a stock LT1.
Man, I've been looking for that mag article for a while...vette&fbod, you have the link?
And, that is some of what I was thinking as well. The SD cars don't have the restrictive (?) MAF, so maybe they were a little faster.
Also, I think in that article top speed was listed around 162...making the King (ZR-1) the fastest, but not by much and the 92 the fastest of the LT1 variety.
