Default It's True !!!

so, I am sitting in my 96, checking things out, looking for what I would like to upgrade or replace, thinking I wonder what red floormats would look like against the all black interior thats there now, also what would one of those embroidered center console pads in red look like, and maybe an italian red leather shift boot?

then I remember something I saw on CF a few months back, a thread about limited storage on the interior, and remember seeing someone saying theres storage under the door handle / rest, well I look down and laugh, seeing the open compartment, and think would'nt it be cool if they actuall put a secret compartment Under the rest.

upon trying to lift the rest "voila !" you have got to be kidding me!!!!!, its actually there !!!!!

I feel like such an idiot for not believing or realizing that it was true....

and not only that the previous or original owner left $22 dollars in there !!!!!!

Right on!!... so maybe theres something else ????

I can see it now, lots of smart a$$ remarks, like "if you do donuts in the parking lot and get out real fast before it comes to a complete halt, gold quarters pour out of the mufflers, but you gotta be fast" HA !

(it does not work by the way, Ha Ha

Acutally I hadn't looked on the passengers for a while and I was cleaning and I found my radar detector that I hadn't seen in about a year in there just the other day

I just bought one of those center console pads for the interior, it's yellow to match the paint. They are a pain in the butt to install and make look like it wasn't just thrown on. In the end I probably would not have bough it. I though it replaced the old cover but it sits on top and looks a little tacky. If you do, I'd cut the old material from the lid and maybe glue the new pad to the old lid. It would look better. just my 2 cents worth. But then again what do I know I'm just a brain surgeon.....

Default Red Floor Mats

When I bought mine it had red floor mats. Looked like crap. I bought some black w/ the silver C4 logo. Looks a lot better in my opinion.

I put red mats in mine to add some interest to a black interior. I think they look good, but keeping them clean will be a major issue.

Don't have a pic, but just found this out myself the other day

Look just past where you put you hand to close the door when you get into the car....the surface that some may rest their left elbow while driving. Lift that up.

Don't know if all C4's have this, but my 96 CE does

Yep, that's it. Lift the armrest pad. I'm pretty sure it's only the later C4s that have this cubby. Something like '93 - '96, or thereabouts (?). I know my '94 has it.

Be well,

SJW

Why? Just tell your passenger to take off their shoes before getting in (very ethnic of me ). And as for you, just leave your driving shoes at the base of your seat. Problem solved. No cleaning needed. PS I've been thinking about some diff color mats than the standard black.

I think it went like this: the '93 was the last year for a formal, glove box up on the dash where the airbag is now). the engineers or designers thought it'd be nice to add a little something back. thus, the two armrest hiding places, aka "storage bins".

I found mine while cleaning the interior. Thought my armrest was falling off and was about to faint. Then, it opened!!!

Hmmm, does that work for other articles of clothing as well?
