I'm not exactly sure about that, because changing out the ECM doesn't affect the odometer, so there must be a main brain in the car somewhere.

Now how would you know that?
What about a lease (or is that only in a C5/C6?)
Got proof? (pics)

In my car the main brain is behind the steering wheel..... at least that's where I think I left it.

So does anyone want to go push their Vette for a mile?

The speed is taken on the tailshaft of the trans, at least up through 95. I don't know for 96.

It would be stupid to read the speed anywhere else, since you'd have to calculate the gear ratios back out of it... and it would not work in neutral depending on where you put it.

The speedo reads pulses from the outputshaft, so it doesn't care what direction its turning.

Sounds like you do, friend

What gives? Why the persistence? Got something to hide, huh???? Just playing with you.

I have no clue, but it didn't work for Ferris Buehler (sp?). My -.02.
