My ABS light came on and has stayed on, even after repeated turning the car of and starting it again. Anything I can check myself before taking it in? Its a 1990.
i think it was corvettefever, the had a good tech artical about ABS and trouble shooting it. the first time about 6 months ago my light was on i did there check adn found a bad relay. well it came on again the other day, i don't really driver her in bad weather so i'll live with it for now.
Make sure to check your brake fluid level, top it off. Even if its just a little bit low, it will make the warning lights on the DIC come on.
Yup, that helped mine. I was getting pissed when that light kept coming on. I was about to take it in, but I decided to check the fluid level, saw it was low, and it went off when I added some.

If the ABS light is on it means the anti-lock feature isn't working but the brakes are still functioning. If the BRAKE light comes on you have a possible failure in the brake system.
