Corvette,Rolex,Buisness,Getting what you want!I have it and do it,but on Sunday Dec.18th I was taught the lesson of my life.I watched the passing of a loyal humble friend,a dog.Someone who never asked anything of me,he just wanted to be my friend. The lesson he taught was never take for granted those who love you or the time you have with them.
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Sorry about your friend. You're right there is nothing more loyal , who gives everything and asks for nothing, than Man's best friend. I get a better greeting when I get home from work from my mutt than from my kids.
That lesson will be expounded on throughout your lifetime. Some lessons you can learn from others if you choose, others you have to go through. Sorry for your loss.

Dogs can be cool animals and great pets. Losing one can be heart-breaking.
(Maybe this should be in OT, since it has little to do with C4's or Corvettes in general.)
It's truely amazing how firmly entrenched in our hearts pets can get. Non-pet people don't really understand the hurt,
but those of us who are, feel your loss.
Sampson was a pitbull he spent his last day at home with his family. He passed that night infront of the fire with my wife and I by his side.He was 9 1/2 yrs old.
Sorry for your loss, I lost my faithfull friend a year ago (125 lb. akc shepard). Remember, you have family here on the forum as well if you need to talk! Keep on reading that "Rainbow Bridge" poem, it helps!
Sorry for your loss . I definitley feel your pain. I've always had cats (four at present). We got a dog about a year and a half ago. I love my cats but boy are dogs different. They are so much more receptive to your feelings and actions, my dog is awesome and I dread the day he departs this world.
My dogs are a big part of my life, I have a Basset hound and an American Eskimo. I try to give both equal time. There is nothing like looking into your dogs eyes as you are scratching his head. That look is priceless - you know you are loved. I dread the day that I loose either one of my dogs. They love riding in the vettes, all I gotta say is let's go (sounds kinda silly) bye bye and they are both right at the door, tails wagging and dancing and ready to go. The funny thing is, they don't care where we go as long as we go together . Yeah they both shed and yes I show my vettes (NCCC). But you know what, they are my boys and they can ride in my vettes any day. So they mess it up a bit, that's what vacuum cleaners are for! Happy Holidays to all and sorry for your loss.
I have got a little place at the lake and me and the dog spend at least one week a month there. The little woman asks how was it, and I says, the dog never said a word in 5 days we were there but he never complained either.
It aint that way when shes there. A good dog is a big loss.
you know, its hard to handle, i've lost about 4 yrs ago, my lab, kosho, and still think about him, his brother Remo is still with me and i feel for you pain. I also dread the day when it comes.
Best wishes...
