Accident
I am quite upset today. Im driivng along the highway and come to the cutoff. I am stopped there and then some guy in a truck rear ends my MINT 85. The damage is quite serious. The whole side of the back is cracked, the top where the gas tank is all cracked, the bumper is all off etc. Man I am mad especially when it could have been avoidable.

Don't let his insurance company bully you around. Take the car to the best corvette shop you can come across and have them fix it. The insurance company may baulk since they are going to want you to fix it at the el-cheapo repair shop, but don't give in. This accident was not your fault and you have every right to have it fixed right the first time.
Don't worry about it not driving right after being fixed. A good shop will know how to get the car riding better then when it probably came off of the factory line.

And, while you're at it, tell the insurance co that you need a replacement vehicle while your Vette is getting fixed. No, they won't rent you a Vette, just some POS other car, but they do owe you that.

Dam that sucks.. Sorry to hear that. Well from prior experiance being a claims adjuster for an insurance company I can tell you a couple of things. If yourveh is totaled you will be very upset with what they will be willing to give you! 2nd his insurance company has to put you in comperable vehicle so dont let they BS you about what you can get. THERE ARE LAWS ABOUT THIS! If there is any info I can help you with feel free to ask me. Again sorry about the car and I hope you are ok.

That sucks, but your car is probably history.
They will pay some where between high and low book.
An 1985 in good shape should be worth, depending on mileage, between
6K low end and 9k high end. You're looking at $6,500 to $7,500.
Have all your records when you settle. They do have to rent you a car, but they will not volunter to rent it. You just rent one. They have to pay the bill.
I would get an attorney if I were you.

I wasnt hurt seriosuly thankfully...just got some whiplash.
About the rent car...im going to ask about it tomorrow and see what they can do about it.
