Can any of you hardcore wrench heads guesstimate on the decrease of MPG's and improvement time on the 1/4 mile. If anyone can can come up with a good close guess I would appreciate it. I have a 6sp that gets around 25 on the hwy now. God I love car talk.
If those are the correct gear specs. Please correct if I am wrong.
Hard to say exactly what your gas mileage will be because gears are only one of the variables that affect mileage. I would say that for the expense the 3.73s are not worth it. 3.92s would be a good all around gear. They will probably improve your 1/4 ties 0.2-0.3 seconds and decrease mileage 1-1.5 mpg. 4.10s are great street and 1/4 mile gears. If you do a lot of highway driving you may want to stick with the 3.92s. That being said they will probably reduce your 1/4 times 0.3-0.4 seconds, but of course that will depend on your ability to hook up. Mileage should decrease 1-2 mpg.
