Default Headlights

Just bought a 1990 Vette and when the lights pop up the headlight motors on both sides keep running about 15 seconds then quit. Is this normal or are the gear teeth worn?
Also would this cause the lights to sometimes pop up and other times just stop halfway?

Bushings have turned into dust. Plastic dust. There should be a tech article on how to replace them. Hopefully someone should be kind enough to link it here. And yes, it is a PITA to hammer out that roll pin when taking out the motors themselves.

Yup. Bushings are toast. Order new ones from MAM and click this link for install instructions http://www.corvettefever.com/howto/33098/

Also, check the C4 Tech Tips section on this Forum. Jeff Loftis wrote a great how-to article that walks you right through it. Should take the better part of a Saturday or Sunday the first time you do it. Pretty much cherry the second go-round. Go luck!
