Honestly, she was pretty cool asked what I was doing I explained and she said slow the Fu!@# down. I drove the speed limit to the state line and started trying to make up lost time!

I used to cruise From Kaiserslautern Germany to Saaebrucken France on the A-6 at about 140mph in my 87 all the time. It was kinda freaky though when the car starts to want to come off the road over the top of a hill or a high section of road. Not to mention when we got to France I had to un-embed my wifes nails from the dash.
171 on autobahn 81, where Porsche tests out their cars near stuttgart.
the pic shows how fast I was going before I had to put the camera down.
I drive to work at 130-150 mph daily in the spring and summertime.

Just curious -- what type of gas mileage do you get at those speeds -- I'm guessing 4-5MPG at most. With the price of gas in Europe I bet it makes all that fun VERY expensive?!?
mileage decreases to about 14 MPG...you get to where you are going pretty quickly so you aren't on the road as long ...as for the cost....I pay american prices...US military and military contractors are afforded that privilege
Last May I had a blast while participating in the Nevada Open Road Challenge... The car hit 180+ 5 or 6 times while averaging 156 mph over he 90 mile course. 8 MPG is a close estimate. Stock LT5 with A/O forced air, headers and 3.07 gears. We still have not converted the 34 minute video to DVD.
This was the most fun I have ever had driving a ZR-1 !

he can buy gas on base/post... Cost per gallon is what it costs in the states. about 2.50 gallon now I'm going to assume.
When I was living there I could go about 150 miles on a tank of gas going an average 150mph the whole way.
163 bone stock. 150+ a few times. all done late at night on the test track
i don't shift into OD till 145 mph
But those 2.59s really help out. I've seen 160+ mph once, but it was on a slight downhill grade of pavement. I'm not really willing to do it again, unless I move to Germany and drive on the Autobahn.
LOL, I suck, the fastest i've gone in my vette was about 80mph on the highway. I've done about 120 in my Buick Lesabre, but that was about all she had.
