My 93 LT1 had a sys message and security light would occassionly flash simulataneously for about 2 seconds and go away. The car was still running fine no problems. Now the car will crank but not start, and the sys message in the dash does not go away. Doesn't appear to have a security issue as no alarms are set off, additionally I have read that the UTD would prevent the car from cranking, and it cranks over fine with good battry voltage. Any ideas where to start with this?

The SYS indicator will flash 3 times every 15 seconds while a current DTC malfunction is present.
The only exceptions are if a PASS-Key malfunction (DTC 51-53) will be indicated by the SECURITY lamp being illuminated without the SYS indicator flashing. Or, If there is a Fuel Enable Data Steam FEDS malfunction DTC 54 then the SECURITY lamp and SYS will flash together.
