So the other day I am driving and see one of my buddies pass me at a light. I started up the car and began tried to catch up to him. In the process we were at a red light seperated, by a Black SLK. I thought that my buddy saw me and I flipped him off. The driver of the SLk thought that I was flipping him off. So when the light turned green the SLK went as slow as possible. I tried everything to pass him and he just would not let me (two lanes with two really slow cars) Finally had the chance to catch up to my buddy and really got on the throttle. I am not sure what I did, but ever since I stomped on it and went through the gears like that, The car runs like a champ.
Prior to this the car would idle poorly and when I started it up the unburned fuel puff would come out. No the car starts perfectly with out the smoke and idles like a purring kitten. Go figure.

My left front Bose speaker used to cut out when I ran over railroad tracks or a bump. When I put her on the road last spring it didn't do it any more. It fixed itself and took itself off the "to-do" list!
One of the motors in my right side passenger mirror wouldn't operate for the last three years. So I bought one off of Ebay. Went out this last summer to replace the mirror but I thought I would try the old one more time. Don't you know it has worked perfect ever since.
My drivers-side electric window on my Silverado quit working for 3 months, then one day about 6 months ago it started working again and I haven't had a problem with it since.
WOT allows the car to breathe, burn all the carbon on the plugs, and rid itself of contaminents in the gas tank. It's like exercise for a car, get the juices flowing.

Yeah...true. Next time a cop pulls me over for gettin' on the gas a little I will tell him that my baby needed to exercise a little....wouldn't want her to get fat.
Also, I hear that it is good to spin your tires every once and awhile just to get the old/dead rubber off the tires....kind of like exfoliating for your tires.
Every time I drive home after beating the crap out of my car at Willow Springs for two days it runs like a champ. Last time it got over 30 mpg on the way home.
I think the computer remembers your driving habits and adjusts accordingly.

On the way to get my passenger side window motor replaced I hit a good bump. The window startted working again. Just stopped again after fifteen months. Looking for another good bump. I have the motor ready to go when I'm ready to part with a hundred bucks.

As to jrzyvet, its no surprise. Porsche dealers tell you to vary speeds, vettes should do the same. Considering you don't "abuse" it for say, and WOT multiple times every day, some WOT is definitely a requirement for optimal performance in any case. I remember when I first got my '90, she ran like crap above 60 until I floored it one day. She coughed something out the tail at around 80, slowed down a bit, held it down and BOOM like a friggin rocket I was hittin triple digits. Starting her up later on, her idle seemed alot better just on that alone.
