need some input on replacement carpet. who bought what - from where? satisfied? comments. anyone install that sound-deadening material? did you just use the spray adhesive directly over the aluminized(?) mat to attach the carpet - ??? i really only need the rear hatch section for my 85 coupe. how much trouble will i get into on color match? color is graphite...
Got mine from Corvette America. Exact factory replacement color, pre-punched knock-outs for the speakers, pre-molded, didn't require any adhesive except for the dash knee pads which were glued to the panel. I used 3M 777 spray adhesive to reattach.
This is where I got my new carpet to restore my 90's interior. I also used 3M carpet glue and I got the insulated padding cheap through JC Whitney. This keeps the heat and the noise out of your Vette.

I also got my carpet from Corvette America. I was pleased with the color match, and the general quality. The rear center piece (the rear hatch area is made of the two sides and the center piece), required the most trimming, to get it to sit properly and fit around the center latch assembly for the rear hatch. The other peices pretty much dropped into place.
You will have to remove lots of interior pieces to expose the edges of the carpet, but once you do it is pretty straight forward.
ALso, I think I removed at least 3 rattles from my car by vacuuming out all the carap that found it's way under the original carpet in the last 20 years (coins, nails, paper clips, etc ).
Corvette america and the color was great I went to home depot they sell 1/8" rubber mat that is used to line under shower /tubs in new homes sounds crazy but just cut it fit. Worked real well ( all get some feed back on this one k bring it on )
Got my interior carpet from The Last Detail and love it. Perfect match and great price. Get the Mass Backing if for the floor. They were really good to work with.
