Default headlight problem

My 1989 has been having a headlight problem ever since i bought it. The headlight on my passenger side seems to get stuck half way into the operational postion. i roll them back to the off position. Then i hear a clickign noise for about 3 seconds after they are closed shut. Now it is starting to happen to my other headlight. But without the getting stuck part when i turn them on. If i roll them up and down after a while(playing with it) it finally does what i say, and obeys my command. But it happens more then it should

The breathless headlamps are sweet looking but the price isn't. Would like to solve the problem wthout blowing big bucks for such a lil task. As we al know these babys can get very pricey repair wise.

Any suggestions..
Thanks!

Ahhh that is what we like to call the bushings. Yours are ready to be replaced. Mine was doing that when I bought it, and after a 3 hour replacement, they are good as new. New bushings cost about 5 bucks from madvet. Check it out!

you can buy the same bushings at Home Depot for about $1.00. If you do a search on this topic you should find a couple of posts that include the item number for the HD bushing.

Thank you fella's

I did the search but i could not find the HD bushings. I was looking at the kit that midamerica sells. Includes bushings and the bronze gear.

Would it be better to upgrade the gear as well wince i have it all apart? while i install the bushings...

Or to save the money on motor upgrades just go head and get bushings alone?

Good work! Next time though, you can save yourself money, hassle and wait by going to Home Depot, find the metal drawers in the hardware section and you will find these delrin bushings under part number 595609 for .69 per pair.
