offset, confused

9.5 X 17 is the standard wheel size for your 95. The proper offset (not back space) is 56mm.
You say the fronts are wearing on the inside. Do you mean the tread is wearing (alignment issue) or that the rubber on the sidewall is rubbing?
When you jack up the front of the car can you spin the wheel with your hands .... does it bind up anyplace in the rotation? Now turn the wheels all the way to the right or the left .... does the tire bind now?
What size tire are you running on the fronts?
On your stock 95 the 11" wide rear wheels will stick out a bit which is why (I believe) the GS model had those little flares on the rear fenders

The OEM wheels on your car, even though the front wheels may have been the 17x8.5" version, had a 56mm offset. The 50mm 11x17 wheels you got from AFS should fit fine and the fact that they stick out some is expected as the they are simply 1.5" wider.
Offset is the distance (typically expressed in millimeters) from the wheel mounting flange to the center of the wheel. Backspacing (typically expressed in inches) is the distance from the wheel mounting flange to the edge of rear of the wheel rim.
Your front tire wear on the inside is an alignment issue. Take the car to a reputable alignment shop and have a complete 4-wheel alignment done. This page from Vette Brakes has some good specs for street alignment: http://www.vbandp.com/instructions/h...ruct/align.htm I use the "Advanced Street" specs for autocross and track days and have not seen any excessive tire wear. Print the page and take it to the alignment shop.
