I just bought the chrome Zr-1 repros off ebay and i forgot that my 93 unlike my old 91 has different tire sizes front and back. My front tires have less than 1,000 miles on them. The wheels i bought are all 9.5". PLEASE tell me i can mount the skinnier 93 stock tire size on this wheel PLEASE!!!!!!!! I hope so otherwise i have 2 brand new front tires about to be worth nothing
****, they are 255/45/17 Khumo Supra 712's. I looked at several sites and it says rim width range is 8-9.5. I am assuming that i will be ok although i am at the high end of the spec at 9.5.
Any real downside here?? I do'nt race this car or anything its a weekend cruiser. So far one person has posted its not too safe then i read its within spec for the tire.
I could probably cancel my order for the wheels whcih i would do cause i dont really need them vs throwing tires away as they literally are brand new

My 96 had 255s on the front when I bought my 17x9.5 wheels. They mounted fine. I ran them until they wore out. You have to be careful though as the fronts will be more succeptable to curb rash.

You will be fine, but there will not be any protection for the wheels from the tire beads so watch those curbs!

They should work fine. If you want some additional assurance, call one of the big tire sellers like Big O - I have had excellent courteous responses to questions like this when I've asked.
