MY passive keyless entry starting going goofy yesterday.
The car unlocks fine. When i walk away from the car i hear the locks engage but I see the interior lights go off. The horn does not blow. Then about a second later the interior lights come back on and the horn blows at random. Anybody see this before. I jjust disabled the PKE for now. Thanks for any help.
Tony
Did you get it working? Mine stopped working. It was working fine and then it got to where it was not unlocking the passenger door. It would lock all of the doors, but it would not unlock the passenger door. Now the PKE does not work at all. Anybody have any suggestions? Oh, I almost forgot. The remote will lock the doors now, but it will not unlock them.
Replace the battery in your transmitter. When they start going weak you get those symptoms. Make sure it is the correct battery. Might have to stop at a Radio Shack.
If one of the locks are binding or not actuating the system will unlock itself. manually check ALL locks...sit in the car have a helper walk away from car with transmitter a few times and watch what happens from the inside..are ALL the locks FULLY actuating?
Also, check your rear hatch switch. The same thing had happened to me, and it turned out that the rear hatch switch was broken.
Also, check the door light switch (button on edge of door that controls the interior light). That button was getting stuck in so it was causing a false signal back to the control on my 96.
