I know there have been a few other dog ear visor fixes on here lately. Here is how I fixed mine. All you need are a couple of large Wire or Cable Ties. Cut the flat part of the tie to about 5 inches.
Before
Slide the cut straps under the edge of the mirror housing and either under or over the fiber board that is under the fabric.
Once the strap is in position just slide the exposed end under the edge of the mirror housing.(I should of cut the straps befor I took the pics.)
After Dont mind the messy garage, I'm working on it....
I would just like to thank you for one of the easiset quick tips that I have ever seen. I completely forgot about your post. I came home and was doing some body repair, and clay-barring. I came in, opened a drawer, and saw some 7" twist-ties. I went out and tried your remedy. My visors are straight!!!!! Thanks, bud.
And the duct tape in the last picture?? Another quick fix?? Are you holding out on us?? Come on ....... tell us....... anti leak, wind noise, anti rattle???

On the top of the A pillar? No duct tape....Reflection from the camera flash on the weatherstrip.
I have a different problem. When I move the passenger visor it is tight and makes a noise like it needs to be lubed. How hard is it to remove it and check it out ? Any other suggestions ?

Convertible? It is easy. Look at the pictures in this post. You can see 2 screws on the plastic cover above the visor. Remove the 2 screws and gently pry/pop off the palstic cover. The visor is held by a coil spring, spring cap and hex nut. You do not need to remove these unless the spring well (hole) is very dirty. One very small shot of white grease should stop the squeak. Replace the cover and be sure to get it under the othe trim piece. Do not use to much lubricant (or too light-weight like WD-40) or it may drip out of the hole onto your passenger. Then you'll hear some squeaks!
So the tie strap just slides under the mirror assy with no cutting? If so, that's an awesome tip.
This came just in time. Both my visors have the dog ears and I was ready to slice them open to repair, and wondering if I should buy one of those cheap hand held stitchers to sew it back together.
