One of the great things about fixing corvettes today is the wealth of information out there regarding parts. There sure are lots of places to buy from. Every one of us has a big stack of catalogs and several websites saved in our computers...these places need your business to survive, but, to be honest, they all seem to be doing well. The profit margins are pretty good compared to other automotive venues, I think. The bad news is that even though there are lots of them (retailers), there are also lots of us (consumers). They are no different than other retailers: some give excellent service and some do not. If you ask around I'll bet that for every guy you find that dislikes a certain retailer, another guy likes 'em. In the long run, the seller who gives the best service at a competitive price will win.
[QUOTE=Z51JEFF]Yea,GMpartsdirect,theres a winner.I ordered a window regulator for an 81 5 weeks ago, still dont have it.[/QUO...............I only order from Ecklers as a last resort, and there will be no last resort,if you catch my drift! They have one competent person in customer relations, and that is Kathy! She solved my problems, fast. Their system is behind the times, too long for a refund,no checks and balances. Too many other places to shop now!
I know we aren't supposed to trash dealers here but the truth is the truth! I ordered a TPI Power Now plenum insert from Ecklers and it was a night mare.
It got lost in shipping, I was charge twice for shipping express and it ended up coming snail mail about two monthe after I ordered it.
I agree with the majority 100%. The problem with Ecklers is 75% of their staff are women and on average women no nothing about machinery, automobiles, mechanics, engineering, etc.
In my opinion, Ecklers does suck.
These days and you can thank the Feminists from the 60s and 70s - women want to control everything. I would not be surprised if Ecklers is controlled, owned and managed by women.
That guy Matt hung up on me once after I asked him to hold on for a second, I had a call coming in (call waiting) and this is after I spent easily $5k on Ecklers products.
Call Mid-America, men answer the phone, men talk to you and those guys know Corvettes.

not to pick on women, but I have to agree that a lot of them dont know much about cars. So it doesnt make sense to me why most of they're employees would be female, unless your theory is correct in that they want to torture us. One of my best friends is female and she seems pretty on the ball about cars, but then again shes not like most other females.
