Default Ecklers Sucks

I hope this is a safe topic. Last year I tried to buy a new left side door panel from Ecklers. I was never able to get any information from their service desk telling me that for what ever reason (perhaps too big) they could not send it USPS to my address in Japan. Yes U.S. Zip code. They never offered an alternate method. Now I have been waiting over three weeks for a headlight motor! They have already (1) charged me (2) charged the postage (3) returned $150.00 of the claimed $175.00 for core return sent 3/1/06 I have called their service desk and sent 3 e-mails. Their claim is they sent it out 2/28/06. Mid -America has sent two shipments with orders made after this headlight motor made 2/28/06

the one thing to remember with ecklers and others is that they do not stock many of the things they sell. many companies do this so im not saying its bad. however when you buy something from ecklers just remember that the person talking to you may not know anything more than what is in front of them on some computer screen. also for all you know their supplier is telling them the same thing they are telling you. it sucks at times but dont hate on them too much. they arent the only ones doing business like this.

That and their price gurantee is a bunch of BS. I would order from them as a last resort.

I have had similar problems in the past. I oredered a water pump that didn't fit for my 90 coupe. After finding out that it wouldn't I called their customer service and got about the most rude lady that I have ever spoke to in my life. She tried to make it my fault that the pump didn't fit but eventually did let me talk to some other guy who I guess is a manager of some sorts. His name is Mike Borro I think and he couldn't have been a nicer guy. He was very apologetic and once he found out that I belonged to the forum told me that there was no problem with returning the pump for a full refund, even with RTV and gasket crap all over it. My advice is to call and ask for Mike directly...

Maybe the secret is in letting them know that you're a forum member.

They have a right to be awfully afraid of bad press. (Let's hope.)

Mike is a very nice guy,a real Corvette guy,but too bad he is no longer running things,he's been there awhile, use to air a tv show about Corvettes. They have problems with the NEW staff, mostly women who know nothing about cars, let alone Corvettes, and "it is just look at the picture, press this button, and it is suppose to work". Plus the sales people work on a small commission. I had several problems with my orders, recently,[wrng calipers, missing parts, etc.] I would order again, but only from Mike or Mack,{who use to work behind the service desk} both know the cars, and the products.

The only way I'd buy from Ecklers is in person...I live in Tampa and love the east coast so it isn't that big a problem

i've had very good luck with TLD, wilcox corvette (eBay), gmpartsdirect, and partsladi in florida (eBay), and even mid-america. ecklers ripped me off about 15 year ago, on some shipping and handling, and i only buy from them as as last resort - which isn't very often - maybe 1% of the time. i probably spend several thousand dollars per year on corvette stuff - BUT NOT AT ECKLERS!!!

Wating on customer service response for 2 weeks now with nothing! I thought they were the biggest and the best, is that why they are to busy to reply back to fix my order?

Wow, I just had a friend order some stuff from them for my birthday last week and it still hasn't arrived. And I live in St. Pete just a few hours away. Gotta love buying something that says instock to find out it's backordered.
