Thanks Eddie -
My son is slowly on his way back from Iraq even as you read this. He's in the marines and works on helicopters and just spent many months outside Baghdad along the shores of the ever popular euphrates.
You have not only my support but my admiration as well.
Stay safe.

Keep your head down, and don't volunteer for anything if you can help it. Remember, what your doing there is a "job," and your doing it well. Get back home to your family, that's the important part of that job.

Wow! Thank you gents (and a few ladies) for supporting Eddie and other soldiers like him (alive and deceased) that are stuck in that mess over seas, as I'm sure he and others will be overwhelmed with gratitude when they see how you folks have supported them!
Up until Eddie was called over there for the second time last January, I had always had respect for the men/women in the armed forces, but now since he's been called over there again and I see the crap he/others are going through, I've found a new respect and soft spot in my heart for *ANYONE* that has fought to give me the right to be free- in peacetime or war... Words just can't express enough about how appreciative I feel about that now... This type of kindness from you guys/gals just goes to show that the Corvette Community is the best out there...period!!! Thank you all!!!
I did receive another email from Eddie (they seem to be time delayed somewhat for some reason and are trickling in) and here is what he said:
"Phil,
I will send more pics as I get more time. Also I attached some pics of a living pod that was hit with a rocket a couple pods down from my room. Rocked the **** out of my room at 9am. Pretty much an everyday thing here and I see **** like this everyday. Well hey gotta get back to work.
Eddie"
I'll post more as the emails arrive here from him. He sent another 3 photos as well about a rocket that hit right next to him...
Rocket hit on living quarters 1
Mortar shelling on living quarters 1
Schrapnel holes from motor shelling
Best Regards,
Phil

A great BIG THANKS for serving. I spent 20 years in the Air Force and I know the sacrifice that our brave men and women give every single day. You are truly a HERO in my book. "FOR THOSE WHO FIGHT FOR IT LIFE HAS A FLAVOR THE SHELTERED NEVER KNOW"

I don't think this thread's going anywhere, no worries. God bless all in the fight for freedom, security and against evil.

Give em hell! God bless all our troops. I just heard on a talk show that even during peace time there are between 1,200 to 1,500 service people who die each year. It is a dangerous job and we truly thank you for doing it.
