I have an Auto check report on an '89 from NJ. From 7/31/96 thru 7/31/04, it lists registration every year on the same date. In over 100 reports on '89s, I've never seen anything this periodic. Is there some bureaucratic reason in NJ that this would happen?
Once upon a time (and still) car insurance in NJ was/is the most expensive in the country. And to give you a reference point, at one time car inspections were the most stringent of just about any of the states before Calif. got crazy about breathing air as they were sliding down a hillside. And to this day, I don't know of another state that doesn't allow you to pump your own gas (self serve), do you? Add all these factors together and if registrations and inspections aren't a little less than spontaneous, I'm not surprised.

That helps to put things in perspective--thanks for the info.
