tail light black outs suck
i love the LED's, but i can't see dropping $400 for a set
That's why I'm still thinking about it. Even without the blackouts, I still have people running up on me, and makes me worry if they see the lights at all. Maybe just being paranoid..........

I sprayed mine.... and went with brighter bulbs. I have checked them out in the sun and they looked plenty bright to me....really I think if someones gonna hit me they were gonna do it anyway. Cops (State trooper) never said anything to me when I got a ticket for window tint.....Soooo I just pay the insurance every month and watch the rearveiw....

I hear ya...I have a switch which uses all reds (including the brake light) in bright mode for running in inclement weather. It steps up 1 notch when you hit the brake also. Bright as hell i might add!!


So....we pulled the statute (for distances, and spec, etc) and did still and video shoots in both daylight and dark citing the weather (natn'l wx svx), moon and ambient lighting, distances, etc).
In the daytime, they were still visible (he had the velcro over covers for his 3rd gen) to be legal but certainly diminished. At night they were fine.
BTW, the statute in Fl. only addresses nighttime use (lol), not daytime operation
I wrote a letter to the chiefs office and mailed it with copies of the info attached. Thats was the end of his problems with OPD
