mechanic help with 86 harmonic balancer
can i get some advise on what it takes to pulll the harmonic balancer and how much would it cost to replace. i have an early 86 vett. the car is runnin hot and stumbles like it has clogged injectors but my mechanic says it is the misalligned harmonic balancer and this is the second opinion. i just want ot know how big of a pain it is to work on. on a 1 to 10 scale. 1 being easy as a tire change and 10 being anything involving transmission work?????

In the Tech section "Lars" has an article on how to replace water pump and timing chain. It tells you how to take the harmonic balancer out. If you go that far, change the water pump and timing chain while you're at it
