200mph this weekend?

i was not able to get any runs in today because my plugs fouled, and i have a broken valve spring. i spent the whole day sorting out the car, and hopefully tomorrow i will get a few runs in. i'll let you guys know what happens....

i did break a few things, none of them being records.
i think it's relatively minor stuff but we have to dig into it a little to be sure.
to make a long story short, i basically wound up with a broken valve spring (middle spring of a triple spring) and on sat i replaced fouled plugs with plugs that i got from advanced auto and they were a few heat ranges hotter than i would have liked... i think that is what made it go a little lean with the NOS and i burnt all the electrodes off the plugs.
only made 2 passes total, one of which was just a nice easy check out pass to see if everything was ok (144mph) and the next where i burnt the plugs up and coasted through at 123 or something anticlimactic.
i will have some in car video to post, and i do have a few pics to share.
hopefully i'll be going back towards the end of may, and i still want that stupid $12 green hat for the 200 club.

I have been chasing the magic 200 myself. I have done it probably 12-15 times. We are not doing it in a mile but going for distance. The races are 90-130 miles long. Pick a speed you want to average, whoever picks the same speed in in you class. Whoever is the closest to a perfect average (over or under) is the winner. The Silver State has a class called unlimited where you just go as fast as you dare. The record is 207.63 average for the 90 miles. You have to understand that we are running on 2 lane close roads. You still have to navigate corners, it is not just a straight shot. The other group the top average is 170mph and you have to keep it below 200 except in the 5 mile speed trap where go as fast as you can. You do have to work up to these speeds and have all the safty equipment.
To get into our 200 mph club you have to go through 2 speed traps at 200+ and finish the race. Last July I had 204 through the first trap and was at 203 going throught the second trap when I had a little mishap.

I blew a tire at 203. All the damage is from the tire explosion I did not hit anything. See my sig to see how the car is suppost to look.
We have a class for every car and it is big fun to do. Come out and try it.

i'm really enjoying looking at the cross sectional view of your car... courtesy of the blown tire. why did you relocate the sway bar? they don't require window hold-down tabs or a roof rail? that's a pretty neat setup for the wing, one of the first i've seen that actually is functional with the attachment being to the frame. where do you get a copy of their rule book, is there a link on the site? just curious as to why you have the fuel filler going through the rear hatch instead of through the filler door? is that a greenwood ground effects kit? what do you have as a front air dam/splitter? i see the belly pan you've put under the rear of the car, did you continue it all the way under the car?
i'd love to see more pics of your car. can you send me some at beach__bumn@hotmail.com
As for a copy of the rule book is on both the sites in my first post on line. Go to either and look at the tabs on the left side of the page for rules.
