The best way & only way to remove the caps without damaging the clear coat and the cap itself is to take each wheel off and pop it out from the under/back side of the cap. If you try to pry the cap off from the outside...you will chip the wheel clear coat for sure. Anyone have a better suggestion....??
Taking the wheels off the car is the only sure way to get the centercaps out without scratching the wheel...that is unless you scratch the wheel taking it off the car...
I tried to beat the wheel pulling requirement when I got new center caps - wish I hadn't. I was super careful - still tore up two of them. Then a guy offered me $20 each if I had all four in good shape
I'm not screwing with my wheels or the centercaps. They're in good condition with no road rash. Can you believe that on a 21 year old vette? They do need to be refinished though
