Got home expecting to see one wheel in the driveway, but hoping for two. One wheel was in the driveway.

I call Tomz Wheels, they call UPS. They tell me UPS will call me in an hour. I get a call from UPS. They apologize. They sent wheel #4 in a group with other packages to another recipient. That recipient refused delivery of wheel #4. The wheel was scheduled to be shipped back to Tomz. They will send me wheel #4 tomorrow. This is after wheel #3 took a 100 or so mile detour from the Atlanta hub to Rome, GA. Apologies for that mistake as well. I know UPS ships a gazillion packages a day, but 60% delivery accuracy... The wheel should be here tomorrow.

What bugs the crap out of me is that four wheels/tires were shipped together with a small accessory box. All made it to the Atlanta hub together. If anything should get lost, it's the small box, but no, I get three deliveries over three days. Two wheels took extended detours.

Hoping I get wheel #4 tomorrow...

Does anyone use the hockey puck for cushion on their floor jack?

I used to and it works well as long as it's a real puck and not a toy. I dont now because this Michelin floor jack I got last year at Sams has a nice rubber pad that works well with the Vette.

The wheel shouldn't be returned to Tomz unless Tomz put the wrong address label on in which case it isn't UPS' fault. The detour more than likely was our fault, but again it also depends on if teh proper address label was originally put on. Also sometimes they come off due to a corner not being pressed down and sticking to something. MAybe a label from another box got stuck to yours. There are dozens of things that can go wrong that aren't our fault. But of course there are plenty of reasons when it is our fault.

Wheel #3 had the correct address, but what you were saying about the preload was true. Somebody at Doraville dropped the ball. Mistakes happen, it's just frustrating when they happen to you. At least they know where wheel #4 is, gave me a direct contact number at UPS, and assured me it would be here today.

Again, thanks to all for the input. This is the most helpful group of guys out there. I also have a Miata, and the most common answer to a post is "USE THE SEARCH." After so many years, how many original questions are there truly? This place ROCKS!

Here's hoping to see a wheel in my driveway tonight.

This is not Mr. Mojo but the jack a vette is a little T shaped device that replaces the disc on most floor jacks. This enables you to use your floor jack in the rear of your car. I got mine from the Corvette Gaget Man. Hope this helps.

No, mine is the original one, the manufacturer is no longer in business, but the one from the Gadget Man is basically the same thing.

Wish UPS Atlanta was that good. They are absolutely terrible, and routemen and customer service always showed an attitude!! Switched all our business to FedEX. Now I don't work in Atlanta anymore and the UPS here do a pretty good job, but after the Atlanta experience I use FedEx, DHL, or about anyone other than UPS as much as possible.
And, UPS HDQ is here, go figure.

That's why, same as the best place to steal a car is right in front of the Police Station because nobody is looking!
