Like the PLAGUE!
My mother in law lives in south central LA. Although its mostly an extension of Mexico... her neighbors lookout for her and are quite friendly.

Its a completely different story once the sun sets. Then its dangerous to open the front door!

Getting back to the subject, hows the smog test going?

Your mother in law lives in Watts? Bad area even in the daylight.

Before you go, learn Spanish.

Yes indeed, welcome to Mexifornia.

you bitch about it here, but it's no different in South Florida.

And to be honest, I know enough Spanish, and they know enough English, we can get what needs to be done, done.

For the most part, the language problem is just that with the lowest of the manual labourers. Cleaning folks, lawn care... but once they get skilled jobs, it's because they can speak enough English to get the job done.

The other thing I have noticed, these folks work their asses off. They are always willing to work, and work hard.

I have seen more Americans with this attitude of entitlement, that they have forgotten what it is like to actually work. We get lazy and complacent... it's an endemic problem... and much bigger than the space allowed here.
