About how much do you guys generally pay for an alignment on your C4's?

Also, how much if a PITA is it to install new bushings, etc?

I took the 87 to a place here in Tampa called "The Corvette Shop". By the time I left there, I felt like I was about to take it in the shorts

I need sometime of measure to decide my next move?

I called a local place that went up last year, they had a Hunter system so I asked on the prices. Front wheel is $39 and four wheel is $49. They had worked on C4's before. Shims were extra if needed. They did good work.

You should not have to pay more than $60-$90 for a good 4-wheel alignment. Most auto repair shops have good computer-controlled alignment equipment that will do the job (assuming the tech is trained and will take his time).

You do have to do a 4-wheel alignment to get everything correct.

IMHO, stay away from Firestone stores and their lifetime alignment deals. Find a reputable auto repair shop and talk to the service writers and if possible, the tech who will be doing the work. Most cars on the road today require a 4-wheel alignment so the Vette is really no different.

Do be aware that some places will try to tell you that you need new ball joints, tie rod ends, bushings, shocks, or hubs; run from these places unless you know or have somebody else tell you that the suspension components on the car needs work.

I pay about $85 for a 4-wheel alignment. The bushings are straight forward and there are plenty of threads on the process. I did mine in 2 days with all of the hard parts (tie rods, upper and lower ball joints, sway bar bushings, and batwing bushings). I learned alot about my vette that's for sure but the ride is much improved and tight like a sports car should be. CentralCoaster did a write up on it I think and so did someone else on the tech tips section of the forum. Good luck!

Thats what I was looking for folks, thanks

This place charges by the hour not the job? $140.00 gets me 2 hours of thier time. I could handle that, but the owners wife started giving me attitude from the get go...started getting a real bad feeling about it.

Kept telling me how this "could" go higher...blah blah blah....

Think I'll go get my car tomorrow and take it elsewhere...

Thanks again
