My point here - and from the begining, is that there is a lot of opinions about what is "better" however, where are the factual points in this thread?

...no disrespect meant - but without facts, the "newer has to be better" dosen't hold water...

After all, GM got cheap in 1990 when they discontnued the mass air sensor and went to speed density (at the expense of overall drivability).

Did the cars get *tighter* over the years to follow?? Sure - glue and other adhesives, along w/ veclro helped with that - although that mostly mitigated the creaks, rather than engineer a proper fix.

Drivability improved for the LT1 cars in 1994 w/ the intoduction of SFI however, if GM hadn't gotten cheap in the first place, we never would have know a MAF sensor Vette

Is a car company expected to make them "better each year" - sure!
Just look at the fantastic improvments of the 1977 Corvette over a 1970

I'd say an 85 would be more reliable than a 95 except for the fact that it's 10 years older. Maybe in 50 years it'll even out.

You asked about reliability, not features. I own a 94 that has been very reliable, and talking to other owners of 94s I have to say it was a very good build year. You can argue all day about the features of each year, but 94 was a very good year for build quality and reliable cars.

You're right! That was his question. In which case, I gotta say, the '93 waS a daily driver and almost never gave me a problem and the newer one gets very light duty and it's never given me a problem. So, I guess they both qualify as nearly problem free. What a great company that Chevrolet is!!!
