I have both tops, the glass one started cracking in the front left corner and was noisy and flexing alot, had the solid top painted and installed it and it's been on ever since, quieter and cooler, no more squeaks or flexing. I can change either one by myself without and problems.

Couldn't you guys have a lexan top fabricated? I was going to replace the glass in my Trans Am with this stuff (I decided against it)-

It would be easier to handle, plus you'd shed tons of weight off of your car.

My solid top's headliner was drooping as GM headliners are prone to do so I just peeled it out. I haven't used my clear top since I got the solid one and now it has just as much headroom when wearing my helmet. I figure my clear top didn't have a headliner so I can live w/o one in this top too.

What do you think?

glass top seems to weigh 1/2 that of solid top

It is due to that, the glass top is easier to handle

I have both tops on a 96
The hard top works better ,the body is tied together and doesnt flex
as much, keeps interior cooler.
Smoke top has a lot of flex.Scratchs easily And is hotter n hell
in the summer.I put mine on by myself.I also had 70 model with t-tops
they sure went on and off alot easier. But just the same Solid for summer Glass for winter..

I have the glass top, but I only put it on when I have to wash the car. I know it is hot where I live, but I cannot seem to put it on ... ever...

The car looks so good without it.
