I decided to collect the drips left over inside an oil container after an oil change. I saved the last half dozen or so bottles and started to drain them into a collection bottle via a big funnel.
When done, I had four ounces of good, clean Mobil 1 ready for top off or whatever.

I saw that done with ketchup bottles at a roadside diner. They even had a holder for 4 near empty, upside down bottles pouring into a funnel into another bottle.
That oil thing frustrates me, there is always a few drops left in it, no matter what.

I never thought too much about it but I've been doing it for years. I agree, over time, a few drops in each bottle add up.

If the dumbfu*** at Mobil 1 didn't have to be so special with their big freakin caps, it'd fit in the fill hole and you could leave it there to fill without having to dangle it over a funnel.
In fact, I'm going to quit buying it strictly based on the caps.

Thanks, I'll give it a try, gotta save where you can nowadays!
We were mountain biking in the boonies one time when my buddy's chain froze up. I noticed there had been some logging going on in the area, so we looked around for an empty oil container. Just enough left in it to lube up his chain and get us on down the road. Thank God for litterbugs...

I should have been doing this for years That way, when my brother would come by w/ his Saleen, I would not have to crack open another quart just to top off his pig
At one time JC Whitney, would sell you a complete system (along with the amazing spark plug that fired in oil). It's been a long time since I've looked at one of their catalogs - will have to see if I can't scrounge one up the next time I'm at Borders so I can see what else is new. Now if I could just figure out how to do this with a can of refrigerant . . .
