i went out to jack up the front of my vette and realized that my jack doesn't fit under my crossmember so i ended up going up my ramps but i would like to do away with the ramps and my jack has such a small pad it worries me
so what jack do you guys use for getting the front in the air
i was thinking this one from harbor freight but was concerned that the back of it would not clear the place where the spoiler is supposed to attach
p.s. currently have the $20 dollar 2 ton one from HF

I usually drive up on a couple of 2X12's and that gives me just enough room to get under the crossmember with your typical floor jack. The pad on mine is also what you would find on a typical jack, maybe 4" or so. Haven't had any problems to date and I always make sure the jack is perfectly centered.
For a great jack pad go to your nearest discount sporting goods store and buy an Ice Hockey puck. Get an NHL approved one as they are made of hard good quality rubber. Price is under $ 5.00
I have that jack. Haven't used it on the vette, but it works great for my lowered truck and I have very few clearance issues with it's very low front air damn. I do plan on jacking up the vette today to change the fuel filter...if I get to it I'll let you know how it works.
